| Can the AFERIY AF-SA400 actually output 400W in good lighting conditions during actual use? |
The AFERIY AF-SA400 is rated at 400W, but actual solar output may not always reach the full rated value during daily use. This is normal in the solar panel industry. ```The 400W rated power is measured under Standard Test Conditions (STC), which means 1000W/m² sunlight intensity, 25℃ temperature, and an ideal vertical sun angle. In real use, sunlight intensity, installation angle, temperature, weather, shadows, and cable loss can all affect the actual output. Under good sunlight conditions, the actual output of a 400W solar panel is usually around 75%-85% of the rated power. |
| If the output value of the AF-SA400 exceeds the specified solar input range of the portable power station, will the equipment be damaged? |
Please make sure the solar panel output voltage, current, and power are within the supported solar input range of your portable power station before connecting.
The AF-SA400 has a 33V working voltage and 39.6V open-circuit voltage. Please confirm your power station’s solar input specifications before use. |
| Can the AFERIY portable power station be continuously connected to the AF-SA400 solar panel? |
Yes, but it is not recommended to keep the solar panel connected when there is no sunlight or when the solar input is unstable. When the solar panel is connected in weak sunlight, such as at night, sunrise, sunset, or in cloudy conditions, the power station may repeatedly start and stop charging. This may cause slight power consumption or relay sounds from the power station. For better performance, we recommend disconnecting the solar charging cable when there is no sunlight and reconnecting it when sunlight is strong and stable. |
| Why does the AFERIY power station make a sound when connected to the AF-SA400 solar panel at night? |
When sunlight becomes weak, the solar input may become unstable. This can cause the power station to repeatedly start and stop solar charging. The AFERIY portable power station is equipped with internal protection components, including a relay. When the charging input repeatedly changes, the relay may operate repeatedly and create a clicking or beeping sound. This is usually caused by insufficient sunlight. We recommend disconnecting the solar panel at night or when sunlight is too weak, and charging again when sunlight is stable. |
| Does continuously connecting the AF-SA400 consume power from the AFERIY portable power station when there is no sunlight? |
It may consume a small amount of power when the power station is connected to the solar panel without stable solar input. To reduce unnecessary power consumption, we recommend disconnecting the solar panel when there is no sunlight. If the power station is not in use, please also turn off the AC output and other output switches. |
| Can the AF-SA400 automatically resume charging the next day if it stays connected? |
Yes, the power station can usually resume solar charging automatically after sunlight becomes strong enough the next day. However, during sunrise or sunset, weak sunlight may cause repeated charging starts and stops. For more stable charging, we recommend connecting the AF-SA400 when sunlight is sufficient and stable. |
| Can AF-SA400 solar panels with different voltages and currents be connected in series? |
We do not recommend connecting solar panels with different voltages, currents, or specifications in series or parallel. When using series or parallel connection, please use solar panels of the same model and same specifications. This helps avoid charging efficiency loss, unstable input, or possible damage to the power station. For the AF-SA400, please always make sure the combined voltage and current remain within the supported solar input range of your portable power station. |
| Is the AFERIY AF-SA400 suitable for outdoor use? |
Yes. The AFERIY AF-SA400 uses durable ETFE coating and an upgraded aluminum frame design, making it suitable for long-term outdoor solar charging. To extend the lifespan of the solar panel, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to heavy rain, standing water, or extreme weather conditions when possible. |
| Is the AF-SA400 foldable and portable like the S400A1? |
No. The AF-SA400 is an upgraded aluminum-frame solar panel designed for better durability, heat dissipation, and long-term outdoor use. If you need a solar panel mainly for camping, travel, and easy storage, the foldable S400A1 may be more suitable. If you need a stronger panel for fixed installation, RV setups, cabins, home backup, or off-grid systems, the AF-SA400 is the better choice. |
| Are AFERIY AF-SA400 solar panels compatible with other brands of portable power stations? |
Yes, the AFERIY AF-SA400 can work with many portable power stations on the market, as long as the power station supports the solar panel’s voltage, current, power, and connector type. The AF-SA400 specifications include 400W rated power, 33V working voltage, 12.12A working current, and 39.6V open-circuit voltage. Please check your power station’s solar input range before connecting. For AFERIY portable power stations, the AF-SA400 is suitable for compatible models within the supported solar input range, such as AF-P110, P210, P310, 2001A, and 1201A. If you are not sure about compatibility, please contact AFERIY support before use. |
